Introduction
Nestled in Brasília, Brazil, the Home Studio, spanning a modest 30 square meters, serves as the headquarters for the graphic design practice of the same name. True to its moniker, the boutique studio fosters an intimate and relaxed rapport with clients, aiming to emulate the warmth and comfort of a home environment within its workspace.
Spatial Layout
Designed by Studio Clarice Semerene, the interior architecture revolves around a single open space, carefully curated to accommodate the studio’s diverse functions. The layout incorporates a compact kitchenette, a welcoming area for client meetings and relaxation, and designated workstations for a team of four designers.
Design Features
Strategically positioned near the windows to maximize ventilation and natural light, the workbenches offer a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, the kitchenette and social zone, situated in proximity to the entrance and restroom, serve multiple purposes, optimizing spatial efficiency.
Multi-functional Furnishings
A custom-made table serves as a versatile centerpiece, doubling as a dining surface and a conference table for client meetings. Complemented by a bench equipped with storage drawers and an extendable design, the living area seamlessly transitions into a collaborative workspace. The inclusion of a sofa and TV enhances the ambiance, providing a casual setting for leisure and client presentations alike.
Harmonizing Work and Leisure
The delineation between work and leisure zones is subtly demarcated by a transparent metal shelf adorned with books, ornaments, and greenery. This feature not only infuses the space with a sense of nature and well-being but also allows unimpeded passage of sunlight. Additionally, the use of natural materials such as brick, cement, wood, and earthy tones, consistent with the studio’s branding, further reinforces its domestic ethos.
